*** CADPower & GeoTools V 17.17 Update:

*** GeoTools-Geological Update:

We are privileged to have a number of GeoTools customers who are in mineral exploration and mining industries. With active feedback and support from users in this sector, we are now on a drive to strengthen the mining and geological tools in GeoTools.

** Enhancement: GEOL_MININGSYMBOLS: GeoTools -> Mining & Geological Tools -> Mining Symbols : The Mining Symbols browser now remembers the last used folder selection. This makes it easier in selection while returning back to the command.

** Enhancement: GEOL_MINEX2DWG: (GeoTools -> Mining & Geological Tools -> Import (read) a MINEX coal reserves data file): Performance of this command has been significantly enhanced. You can now import a MINEX file containing thousands of records much faster than before, thanks to improved code optimization. In addition, you can now specify the MINEX codes that are to be searched and processed, and points created as per the codes.

Additionally, please note that this command has been moved from the Miscellaneous Section to the 'Geological& Mining' section.

Using a related CADPower command called CP_CONNECTBLOCKS, you can easily connect blocks matching specified attribute values.

This tool is useful in modeling and representing the coal seam data from MINEX files.

** Enhancement: GEOL_BOREHOLELOGGER: (GeoTools -> Mining & Geological Tools -> Import bore-hole data [Read bore-hole info from ASCII files and create bore holes]): The GEOL_VBOREHOLELOGGER command now uses a dynamic block for bore-holes called 'BORE_HOLE_BLOCK'. The dynamic block has these pre-defined visibility states:

- Default
- Problematic Quality
- Blue
- Positive
- Negative

These visibility states have been set based on inputs given by one of our clients. If you wish to create your own customized versions, it is easy. Simply take the BORE_HOLE_BLOCK.DWG dynamic block and add/edit visibility states as necessary. Any questions or requests, please do contact me for help.

There is now an option to edit the bore hole CSV file directly from within the command. The CSV file must have a maximum of 8 columns of data.

New command added (alpha version): GEOL_LEASEAREAPLANNER: (Menu: GeoTools -> Mining & Geological Tools -> Lease Area Planner):

** Enhancement: GEOL_BOREHOLESTRATA: (GeoTools -> Mining & Geological Tools -> Draw bore-hole cross-section data):

There is now an option to edit the bore hole strata CSV file directly from within the command. The CSV file must have a maximum of 8 columns of data.

** New command added: GEOL_LEASEAREAPLANNER: (GeoTools -> Mining & Geological Tools -> Lease Area Planner):

The GEOL_LEASEAREAPLANNER is an alpha-version, work-in-progress command which we want to introduce and engage with clients in the mining industry. The goal of this command is to provide an interface to document various elements of mining lease boundary, its compoments and its constraints.

For example, any mining lease area has the following components which are classified into layers:

- Lease boundary
- Major roads
- Minor roads
- Water body
- High flood level
- High tide line
- Explosive zone

Each one of these components have additional properties and parameters which can be specified and stored.

The goal is to capture the entire properties and character of a mining lease area and use it for several downstream processing operations. T start with, we plan to provide several area calculation, zoning and reporting tools for mine lease area management.

We are open to suggestions and inputs to help make this command better.

** New command added: GT_CSVEDITOR: GeoTools -> Miscellaneous -> File Management-> CSV Editor:

The CP_CSVEDITOR command is used to edit comma delimited ASCII text files within the CAD editor. The current version allows to edit CSV files with a max. 8 columns of CSV data. The data is presented in a dialog box and each column can be edited by entering a new value in the edit box or choosing one from the pull-down menu. A pre-defined set of probable values can be defined and supplied to the command.

** New command added: CP_VIDEOS: (CADPower -> More Options -> Watch Videos)
GT_VIDEOS: (GeoTools -> More Options -> Watch Videos)

The CP_VIDEOS and GT_VIDEOS command displays all the current youtube videos available. You can select the video from the link and it will open youtube and play the video. An internet connection is required for this command to function.

** Major enhancement: Starting this versions, we have created a 'Video/Help' button at the bottom of about 37 dialog boxes. These are primarily commands for which we already have a YouTube video. Going forward, we will be providing the video link to all the remaining commands in due course during the life-cycle of V17.

Clicking on this button takes you to the online help on our website and also displays the youtube videos if available. If you are online, this is a quick way to access support and help on each CADPower or GeoTools command. This command may not work correctly in some AutoCAD versions. This is being fixed. It works correctly in BricsCAD.

We believe this is a giant step forward towards helping trial as well as paid users to access product help and videos without having to memorize URLs.

Bug alert: The Video/Help button may malfunction in some versions of AutoAD. This is a known issue and will be fixed in upcoming versions.

** ZIP downloads now available:

Starting this version, the English versons of CADPower and GeoTools will also be available as ZIP files, in additon to EXE downloads. Other language verions to follow.

The ZIP download is useful for MAC users who cannot install using Windows EXE installers. It is also a solution for Windows firewall (or anti-virus software) issues pevent EXE files from downloading / running and trigger misleading security alerts. The ZIP URLs are shown next to EXE downloads.

** New command added: CP_PIECEMAKER: CADPower -> BOM/BOQ Tools -> Panels, Layout & Sizing -> Cut a linear item into pieces:

The CP_PIECEMAKER command is used to schedule your cuts efficiently. Starting with a full un-cut piece of linear element, you can now easily create a quantity schedule of cut pieces. The gap allowance also needs to be specified (optional) and the quantity schedule of cut lengths and their quantities are displayed in a CAD table as well as exported to Excel-ready CSV files. A pictorial true-to-scale representation of the cut pieces is also generated in the drawing.

** New command added: CP_CSVEDITOR: CADPower -> Miscellaneous -> File Management-> CSV Editor:
GT_CSVEDITOR: GeoTools -> Miscellaneous -> CSV Editor:

The CP_CSVEDITOR/GT_CSVEDITOR command is used to edit comma delimited ASCII text files within the CAD editor. The current version allows to edit CSV files with a max. 8 columns of CSV data. The data is presented in a dialog box and each column can be edited by entering a new value in the edit box or choosing one from the pull-down menu. A pre-defined set of probable values can be defined and supplied to the command.

** New command added: CP_RECOVERYMANAGER: CADPower -> Miscellaneous -> File Management -> Drawing Recovery Manager: (BricsCAD only):

The familiar drawing recovery manager from AutoCAD is now available in BricsCAD via CADPower.

The CP_RECOVERYMANAGER is a FREEWARE command and available in the BricsCAD version only. It provides a work-around for the Drawing Recovery tool that is available in AutoCAD and which is missing in BricsCAD. This tools tracks the auto-save file that is created in the TEMP folder and restores the latest version available and offers to copy it to the same folder as your current drawing. The recovered file has a name <dwgname>_RECOVER.dwg and it functions almost identically to the AutoCAD tool.

** Enhancement: CP_DENSIFY : CADPower -> Polyline Tools -> Vertex Management -> Densify Vertices:
GT_DENSIFY : GeoTools -> Polyline Tools -> Optimization/Cleanup -> Densify Vertices

The Densify vertices tool now has a option to control the output, which layers they must go into and whether original objects must be retained or deleted.

** Enhancement: CP_VXLABEL @ CADPower -> Annotation -> Label polyline vertices
GT_VXLABEL @ GeoTools -> Annotation -> Label polyline vertices

A new option has been added to align the vertex label perpendicular to the segment on which the point falls. If this option is checked, the Rotation angle is not relevant ans is greyed out.
