GeoTools V 9.11 Update:

This update adds three new commands to GeoTools:

1. The first command is a image cataloging and search tool that will help in selecting and attaching geo-referenced images. It is provided through two sub commands - GT_IMAGESCAN and GT_IMAGESEARCH, both under Miscellaneous Tools.

These commands can be used to read positioning information from geo-referenced image/world files and attach/display the image corresponding to the selected area of interest (AOI).

GT_IMAGESCAN: (Miscellaneous Tools - Scan selected image files and build image boundary list):

The first of these two commands, GT_IMAGESCAN will scan multiple image files and their corresponding world files and build an in-memory list of image, position and extents information.

GT_IMAGESEARCH (Miscellaneous Tools - Insert geo-referenced image corresponding to selected AOI):

The second command, GT_IMAGESEARCH asks the user to specify an area of interest (rectangular boundary) and will search the scanned images and attach the image corresponding to the specified AOI.

2. GT_PLARCMIRROR: (Polyline TolSet 3 - Flip (mirror) arc segments of polylines): The GT_PLARCMIRROR command flips (mirrors) ONLY the arc segments of a polyline with arcs. This can be a useful tool to flip the direction of polyline arcs in many mapping situations where arced polylines are used to show vegetaion symbols. In particular, this command may be used to fix the polyline arc direction if it has been generated incorrectly by the GT_VEGLINE command in GeoTools.

3. GT_COMPAREBLKATTS (Block Tools - Compare Block attributes and create report): The GT_COMPAREBLKATTS command compares all blocks in the current drawing (with attributes) and creates a report of all blocks which have the identical attribute structure. This is a good QA and analysis tool to analyze multiple blocks in drawings which may have identical, slightly different or completely different attribute structures.

The report generated by this command tells which of the blocks have identical attribute structure. Accordingly, the blocks may then be merged (replaced by) into one name or the attribute structure of other blocks can be suitably modified to match the desired attribute structure.

Installation process changes: Starting from this version, we have removed the 'administrator privileges' required for GeoTools installation. From now on, any Windows user can install GeoTools on their computer even if they are not logged in with administrator privileges.

Important note: While all of GeoTools commands are tested quite extensively before they are released, it is humanly impossible to test-run it under every different data type or operating environment. In the event that you notice any GeoTools command not functioning as expected, please bring it to our notice as soon as possible. We will attend to it and fix the problem as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support. As always, we welcome feedback at all times.
