User-interface enhancement: GeoTools user-interface now has a new adition - Flyout menus. You can now use each GeoTools command selection as a flyout selection from a toolbar. So, if you open the Flyout toolbar, you can access all of the existing GeoTools toolbars without having to clutter the screen with the toolbars. The implementation of flyout toolbars delivers significant productivity gains and better ease of command navigation within GeoTools.

Enhanced commands: GT_PARTSTRETCH (Polyline ToolSet 2 - Stretch part of a polyline): The GT_PATSTRETCH command has been significantly enhanced. You can now stretch arc segments in the polylines as well in addition to straight line segments.

Until now, the command would not recognize arc segments in an arce'd polyline and would treat the arc as a straight line between the two end points. This is now history. Arc segments are now correctly recognized and stretched to a new location. If the segments preceding or following the stretched segments are also arcs, you may sometimes notice some strange arc patterns as AutoCAD attempts to refit the polyline based on existing bugle factors of surrounding segments. In these special cases, a manual editing for a corrective action may be necessary. But the program appears to be handling arc segments correctly about 80-90% of the times.

New commands added:

GT_SHEETINS (Civil Tools: Create and Place Map Sheet Index Block): The GT_SHEETINS command can be used to create a sheet index block on-the-fly. It creates a square-shaped polyline in a block by name SHINDEX with a defined X and Y size of 1.0 units and a single attribute representing the map sheet name. This block is then inserted with X and Y scales factors equal to the user-defined sheet sizes in X and Y directions. This is a useful tool in many mapping situation which require a map sheet block to be placed to cover existing base-map data. In addition to creating the block, this tool also offers help in positioning the map sheet by dynamic dragging, first to place the block at the desired rotation angle and then to move and place the block at the desired location. The map sheet name entered by user is stored as the block attribute. The sheet index block created by this command can be optionally used by the GT_ANNOGRID command (described later) to create a grid around the map sheet block.

GT_ANNOGRID (Civil Tools - Create Map Grid): The GT_ANNOGRID command can be used to create a map grid within a given map sheet area. The map sheet can be specified either by picking an existing SHINDEX block (created by the GT_SHEETINS command) or by picking points on the screen to 'show' the extents of the map sheet. The grid annotation parameters include variable spacings in the X and Y directions for the text annotation (along the map edges) as well as for the grid tick marks. The text height and block scale factors can be user-controlled. The grid annotation text as well as the tick marks are defined in pre-defined blocks which can be customized to achieve a custom grid as per user specifications.

---New---: The Spanish and German language versions of GeoTools ALSO have been simultaneously updated with this current release with all translations of program messages, dialog boxes and other parts of the user-interface completely done.

** Enhanced commands:

GT_PL_DATALBL (Annotation Tools - Label polylines with object / database-linked data): The GT_PL_DATALBL command now accepts multiple objects for annotation in addition to individual single picked annotations. If the 'multiple' option is chosen, all the objects will be annotated at their curve mid points and you will not be prompted to pick the annotation point for each object. This option helps annotate multiple objects at once without having to pick each one of them.

** Bugs fixed

Some minor bugs have been fixed in dialog box selection processes.


Important note: While all of GeoTools commands are tested quite extensively before they are released, it is humanly impossible to test-run it under every different data type or operating environment. In the event that you notice any GeoTools command not functioning as expected, please bring it to our notice as soon as possible. We will attend to it and fix the problem as soon as possible.
