GeoTools V 7.05 update:

Pick up this latest update from
http://www.4d-technologies.com/geotools/download/geotools.exe

This update of GeoTools has four new commands added to its collection and one bug fix.

** New command added: GT_SHOWXD (Extended entity Tools - Display extended entity data from picked object)

The GT_SHOWXD command displays on the command line extended entity data from a single selected object. On starting the command GT_SHOWXD, it first displays a dialog box which allows the user to select one or more registered extended entity data applications in the current drawing and will display extended entity data from these applications.

Successive calls to this command can also be made with the shortened command version, GT_XD which will display the extended entity data without displaying the dialog box to select the xdata application. Use the full command GT_SHOWXD only if you wish to change the selection of the application names.

** New command added: GT_BATCHPROCESS: The GT_BATCHPROCESS command is used to create a Windows BATch file that can be used to open multiple AutoCAD drawing files (one after the other) from a selected folder in un-attended mode and optionally, process the drawings via a script file.

You select the BATch file name to create, SCRipt file to use (optional), drawings to process and the name of the AutoCAD profile to use and the command creates a BATch file that can just be run to process the selected multiple drawings.

Use this command to quickly process multiple drawings.

** New command added: GT_XD_EXTRACT: The GT_XD_EXTRACT command extracts extended entity data into ASCII text files. You can select multiple xdata applications and export them to ASCII text files. Additionally and optionally, the ObjectType, LayerName and Handle of each object can also be included in the export.

This command is exactly similar to the GeoTools GT_OD_EXTRACT command that performs an extract of object data to ASCII files in Autodesk Map.

** New command added: GT_XD_SEARCH: (Extended Entity Data Tools - Search and replace extended entity data): The GT_XD_SEARCH command does a search (and optionally replace) of extended entity data. You can now search xdata fields by code as well as by position in the xdata structure and perform a full-features search and replace operation to edit the values of the extnded entity data matching the criteria.

The standard GeoTools string search/replace options like PartSearch (Embedded strings) and CaseSensitive search are also possible in this command.

Search and replace of integer and real values can be made on the basis of wildcards matching the search criteria.

The search/replace can be made on selected xdata application, one at a time.

This command is exactly similar to the GeoTools GT_OD_SEARCH command that performs a search and replace of object data in Autodesk Map.

!! Bug fix: GT_OD_EXTRACT (Autodesk Map Tools - Extract Object Table Data to ASCII files) - The GT_OD_EXTRACT command was not exporting the 'Additional Export Options' of ObjectName, Layer Name and handle correctly in the export, if these options were checked and on. This has now been fixed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Important note: While all of GeoTools commands are tested quite extensively before they are released, it is humanly impossible to test-run it under every different data type or operating environment. In the event that you notice any GeoTools command not functioning as expected, please bring it to our notice asap. We will attend to it and fix the problem as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support. As always, we welcome feedback at all times.
