The GeoTools Object Data Tools are provided under the Build tools and are a set of tools to attach non-graphical database informatiom to entities in the form of defined tables with fields. This feature is similar to the AutpCAD Map Object Data tools and uses extended entity data internally to store the information tagged to each entity.

The GT_DATAMAN command is completely re-written from the old version and now performs all functions of object table definition creation & editing. Here, you can create a new object data table, add fields and specify their types and set default values. The user interface of this command is simple and self-descriptive.

In the first version released in V 20.03, the following object data field types are support: Integer, Real and String. In the next update, two more field types: Point and hyper link-URL will be supported.

The GT_ATTACHDATA command allows object data tables to be attached to selected entities. The default values for the fields as specified during the table creation will be copied and set during this process.

The GT_DETACHDATA command allows object data tables to be attached to selected entities. The default values for the fields as specified during the table creation will be copied and set during this process.

The GT_EDITDATA command allows object data to be edited. If multiple objects are selected, you are presented with the above dialog box and you can edit the object data in two ways:

One entity at a time: Clicking this option brings up the object data editor for each entity separately and you can edit the values manually.

All at once: Clicking this option allows you to set a specified object data value and the same will be applied to all selected entities.command allows object data tables to be attached to selected entities. The default values for the fields as specified during the table creation will be copied and set during this process.

The GT_COPYDATA command allows object data to be copied from the entity to multiple other entities in the selection.

The GT_LABELDATA command allows object data to be displayed as text labels near the objects. This command is work in progress and is not yet ready.

The GT_QUERYDATA command allows object data to be queried using search conditions and the same can then be either viewed on-screen or exported to CSV files.

It is possible to enter two search conditions in one operation of the command and they can be connected with an AND or OR loical operator.

Command line : GT_EXPORTDATA

The GT_CPOD_EXPORT command exports object data from selected objects into a CSV file which can be easily viewed and edited in Excel or similar spread-sheets. The exported data can ebe imported back into the drawing using the GT_CPOD_IMPORT command..

Command line : GT_CPOD_IMPORT

The GT_CPOD_IMPORT command imports object data from a previously exported data (using GT_CPOD_EXPORT command) which should be available in CSV format and must compusorily contain the object handle as one of the fields for import.
