Command line: GT_CREATETAPER

The GT_CREATETAPER command is used to create new tapered polylines (with specified widths at each end) OR convert existing lines, polylines and arcs into tapered polylines with specified start and end widths. The GT_CREATETAPER command creates the same output as that of a polyline command drawn with differing start and end widths. It allows you to set the start and end widths once and you can create multiple tapered polylines without having to enter the width information each time, as in the case of standard polyline command.

Start Width: Specify the starting width of polyline/arc.

End Width: Specify the ending width of polyline/arc.

Taper creation method

Draw New: Choosing this option allows to draw a new tapered polyline/arc.

Convert Existing: Choosing this option allows to convert the existing polyline/arc to tapered polyline/arc with specified start and end width.

Note: GT_CREATETAPER command can convert only two vertex polyline/arc into tapered polyline/arc.

Toolbar : Zeichnen Tools
Menu : GeoTools Zeichnen Tools  Befehl für 3D Polylinie
Command line: GT_EASY3DPOLY
GT_EASY3DPOLY allows 3d polylines to be constructed easily by providing an easy-to-use interface that allows for elevation values of each point to be entered without having to use .xyz osnap filters. Imagine you are digitizing the values of a surveyed path which is in 3d and available only in paper form. This command allows each point to be picked and the Z value entered in an easy manner. Or if you estimating the elevations of each point based on nearby objects, this command can be used very effectively.

Command: gt_easy3dpoly

Draw 3d polyline with elevation prompts.
From point: (pick a point)
Enter vertex elevation <0.00>: 5.6

Close/Undo/Auto:<Endpoint of line>:a
Enable Automatic elevation increment/decrement? [ Yes/No ] <No>:y

Enter increment[+]/decrement[-] value <1.00>:

[-1.00, CurZ=6.60] Close/Undo/Auto:<Endpoint of line>:
[-1.00, CurZ=7.60] Close/Undo/Auto:<Endpoint of line>:
[-1.00, CurZ=8.60] Close/Undo/Auto:<Endpoint of line>:
[-1.00, CurZ=9.60] Close/Undo/Auto:<Endpoint of line>:

GT_EASY3DPOLY can also automatically calculate the elevation for subsequent points based on a constant increment or decrement from the current elevation. The current elevation and the current increment of decrement setting can be viewed in real-time while running this command.

Toolbar : Zeichnen Tools
Menu : GeoTools Zeichnen Tools  Tangenten an Kurven
Command line: GT_TANCURVE

The GT_TANCURVE command provides a quick way to draw tangents to curves like arcs, polylines, splines etc.

Tangent points: Use this section to specify where the tangents should be drawn.

At Ends: Draws the tangents from both the ends of the curve.
At picked point: Draws the tangent from the picked point on the curve.

Tangent lengths:
Specify on screen:
Choosing this brings up a rubber banded line and specify the length of the tangent by mouse pick.
Fixed:
Specify the desired length in the "Length" box and the tangent will be drawn to this length exactly. In case of tangents drawn at picked point, this option results in half of the length to be drawn on either side of the picked point.
Intersect:
Draws the tangents from both ends of the curve until they intersect. Not yet implemented.

Command line: GT_EMBHATCH
Use this command to draw an hatch pattern of alternating long and short lines of the kind shown in the figures below to represent an embankment slope pattern.

Embankment hatch slope pattern                   Embankment hatch slope pattern

The GT_EMBHATCH command requires two boundaries represented as lines or polylines. The hatch pattern is created as a series of long and short lines with the specified spacing in between them. The ratio of the long and short lines is expressed as a percentage length.

The boundary lines can either be AutoCAD LINE objects or POLYLINE objects. The GT_EMBHATCH command works on linear straight line segments only. If the boundary lines are splined polylines or polylines with arcs, they must be converted to linear segments polyline before using the GT_EMBHATCH command. To do so, use  the PLARC2PL or SPL2PL GeoTools command.

Command: GT_EmbHatch

Enter or pick spacing between hatch lines <1.00>: 15
Enter percentage length for alternate hatch lines <50.00>: 50.00

Select first side of embankment: <do so>
Select second side of embankment: <do so>
Select middle path between embankment sides [ENTER to use first side]:

Minimum Radius: This is the minimum radius to use in the random sampling of arcs
Maximum Radius: This is the maximum radius to use in the random sampling of arcs
Flip Arc Direction: Clicking this option reverses the direction of the arc segments. Use this option if the arc appears in the wrong side

Radius Control:

Use random values in range: Uses randomly selected radius values in between the specified minimum radius and maximum radius.
Use min and max radius values only: Uses only the minimum and maximum radius values in alternating sequence.

Save: This button open a file save dialog which allows the current GT_VEGLINE operating parameters to be stored in an ASCII text file. These may be later retrieved using the Retrieve option.

Retrieve: This button opens the file open dialog which reads a previously saved GT_VEGLINE parameter file. Upon reading the file, the parameters in that file become current.

Tech Info: The GT_VEGLINE command creates an arced polyline in which each arc is randomly chosen to be of a radius value in between the Minimum radius value and Maximum radius value. If you want a uniform size for the arcs, enter the same value for both min and max radius.

Layer to place

Source: Explodes the polyline and places the result in the layer in which it was created (source layer)

Specify: Explodes the polyline and places the result in the layer selected by the user

Layer-name: Displays the name of the layer selected

Select: Clicking on Select button pops up the select layer dialog box

Delete original objects: Checking this box deletes the original source object after exploding
